Shannon and Robbie’s Summer 2017 Wedding

Shannon and Robbie’s wedding is one that we are sure to remember for quite some time. Shannon was one of the first brides to ever come out to tour our venue and she ended up being the first big wedding at the venue! We will never forget how blessed we all were to have such a beautiful wedding with a beautiful (inside and out) couple on such a gorgeous August day as our first big wedding at the venue!

Shannon and Robbie’s love for one another was a few years in the making. Robbie showed interest in her when she was 18 and he was 22. At that time Shannon thought he was too old for her. Several years later, Robbie worked with Shannon’s brother-in-law and asked him about her. He then messaged Shannon on Facebook and asked if she wanted to go out on a date. At the time, Shannon was in Grad school at JMU.  She decided to give is a go and went home on the first weekend of grad school to go on a date with Robbie at the fair. Fast forward two years later, Robbie and Shannon went to Disney World with Shannon’s family. They went to take a picture in front of the Magic Kingdom Castle. As they were taking the picture, Shannon’s niece walked up to Robbie and handed him a box. At that moment, Robbie got down on one knee and asked Shannon to spend the rest of her life with him.

Seeing the way that Robbie looks at Shannon will make your heart flutter. You can tell from a mile away how much he absolutely adores her. They had the sweetest wedding!

The day started out with the girls getting their hair and makeup done in the bridal suite while enjoying delicious mimosas and breakfast. The guys had a blast in the man cave playing pool, darts, and watching TV before it was time to get ready.

The ceremony took place under our 200 year old hackberry tree. It was perfect weather for a wedding. There was a nice breeze under the tree for the guests and plenty of shade! They had a beautiful floral garland draped up the tree to add to the natural arbor. Shannon’s cascading bouquet was just stunning. I loved the colors she chose!  After the ceremony, the wedding guests enjoyed food and cocktails under the bistro lights while the wedding party took pictures. Shannon and Robbie’s family were such a good time!

After introductions into the reception, Robbie surprised his family with a surprise performance from his cousin Daniel who just so happens to be the lead singer of the band Everwilde! There wasn’t a dry eye in the reception tent when Daniel dedicated his song to Robbie’s father who had passed away when Robbie was young. After dinner, the bride and groom danced the night away until their glow stick exit!

I am so excited to share their pictures from their big day! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
