Emerald Green Country Wedding With A Lot Personality

Falling for a rustic farm wedding is easy, but when you throw in the personalities of Brittany and Daniel, that’s what really makes it easy to be smitten over this blog.

Brittany is originally from Richmond, VA and Daniel is from Red Oak, VA. Brittany and Daniel met when Brittany made the drive from school to visit her friend who lived in Red Oak one weekend. While she was visiting her friend, they went out with some friends and Daniel happened to be a mutual friend of Brittany’s friend. They met and hung out those two days. After that, they dated long distance until Brittany graduated and started a full time teaching career and made the move from Richmond to Red Oak.

Daniel lives on and runs his grandfathers farm. There is a beautiful site on the property where Daniel and Brittany hope to build their forever home one day. On October 22, 2016, Daniel told Brittany that they were going out to dinner with some friends that night. They hopped in the car to head out and Daniel said he had to drive down the farm real quick before leaving to check on something. Brittany didn’t think anything of it. When they reached the field that will be the site of their home one day, Daniel asked Brittany what was in the field out in the distance. Daniel got out of the truck and walked to the passenger side to hand her his rifle to look through the scope and see off into the distance. When she looked through it, she saw a banner in the distance that said “Will you marry me?” By the time she realized what was happening, she looked up and saw Daniel down on one knee.

Soon after the proposal, Brittany started searching the web for a wedding venue that would be a good location for both their family and friends in Richmond and Red Oak. She came across Waverly Estate, and after winning the Snow Day Giveaway that we did, Brittany came out to tour! She said that she knew as soon as she pulled in that the venue was going to be PERFECT for her and Daniel’s big day.

I loved Brittany’s vision for her wedding and her beautiful wedding colors. Brittany chose emerald because it is her birthstone and she tied in pops of lavender. It was a stunning combination!

From the bride: “There were so many details from the wedding that were special to me it is so hard to choose just one. I think a big detail from the wedding that made it special was the fact that I was able to enjoy the morning with my family and bridal party without the stress or worry about what was happening outside. That was all thanks to Sarah and Collin. They did more than I could have ever imagined. Being able to just sit back and watch it unfold was very special and relaxing.”

Brittany’s father built the stunning arbor for the ceremony and her stepmother put together all of the flower arrangements for the wedding. The arbor was the perfect backdrop for their ceremony and the added sentimental touch made it that much more special.

For those of you who know me, you know that I just can’t handle father daughter dances. The tears just flow. So, when Tim McGraw’s “Little Girl” came on, I was outta there! Then I heard the music suddenly switch and I thought, “oh, no! Did something mess up?” So, I went back in the tent to check it out and realized that Brittany and her dad has planned an epic choreographed dance. Check it out!
